The first thing to remember is that we always have a choice, regardless of the situation.
There’s always more than one way to go about your life, from what you choose to have for breakfast to who you choose to call to talk about what’s been on your mind lately.
If you feel “forced” to do something, especially if this happens repeatedly, ask yourself who’s applying the pressure?
Sometimes we subconsciously repeat patterns of behaviour that we learned early on in our life – from our parents, friends, teachers, role models and people around us.
To mature is to sift through your behaviour and remove all the actions that no longer serve you, so that you can align with the version of yourself that is able to express yourself freely.
