Dopamine is referred to as “the happy hormone”. Its function is essentially to keep us motivated to keep going and to be able to enjoy whatever we’re experiencing.
When we’re lacking motivation or fun in our life, it often has to do with our dopamine levels.
Higher levels of dopamine equal more enjoyment and more productivity, but if we get addicted or overly attached to the activities or the people that give us more of “the happy hormone”, over time we get imbalanced.
Every time we rely on something or someone OUTSIDE of us to keep us balanced, we’ve already lost our balance.
The point is to find out how you can maintain a state of inner gratitude and joy at all times, so that you can be fully in charge of your motivation and not the other way around.
