Food’s not just a physical necessity for the body. It’s our fuel for the day.

What you eat for breakfast and lunch can directly impact how productive and focused you are going to be throughout the day. Similarly, what you eat for dinner can give you an idea of the kind of sleep you’ll have later on.

Fast food might give you an immediate boost in energy, for example, but that comes at the price of losing your overall energy in the long-run.

We love shortcuts, which explains why we are often tempted to follow the path of instant gratification. But when it comes to our three main meals for the day, it’s important to invest in food that will give us the right foundation to succeed.

You can always use your snack breaks if you feel particularly drawn to the sweet side of the superstore (ah, the land of chocolate and fizzy drinks).

But the question what are you willing to change in your diet really is… How much energy do you want to have every day?

If you’re considering making diet changes, but you don’t know where to start – answer these 5 questions:

  • Have I already given up on some foods?

  • Are there any (other) foods that upset my stomach?

  • What have I been eating lately?

  • What do I actually want to eat?

  • What’s stopping me from eating the right food for my body / goals / lifestyle?

When we write down everything we know about our diet so far and everything else we want to explore, we can see the next steps. Whether that’s about trying something new every day or seeking professional help from a certified nutritionist, the point is to keep getting to know yourself on a deeper level.

Just like thoughts are the fuel for the mind, food’s what gives our body energy. Investing in “rich” foods that are packed with vitamins, minerals and other nutrients is directly investing in yourself and making sure you have more than enough energy to thrive. You don’t have to spend a fortune to eat well. Simply adding more fruits to your daily diet has the power to boost your energy more than any fizzy drinks can!
