Everything happens for a reason.

Sometimes you run into an old friend as you’re going about your shopping.

Other times you meet someone new out of the blue that feels like a gift from destiny because of the role they are about to play in your future – a business partner, a project collaborator, a friend, a soulmate.

The same logic applies to opportunities that just come out of nowhere. One day you’re doing the same old reports for work, the next you’re on a plane, because you won a contest and your life is no longer the same from that point forward.

Usually when something good happens, we dismiss it: “Oh, that’s just a coincidence.”

But what do we do when something bad happens?

We focus on it with our full attention!

Coincidences happen all the time. Whether they distract us or connect us, they happen to bring our attention to the present moment.

Next time a coincidence occurs in your day, ask yourself:

  • What do I need to see (around me or within me)?

  • What is it trying to teach me?

  • How does it connect to the day that’s ahead of me?

Instead of focusing on the negative aspects of life, like delays or rejections, think about how what you’re not getting right now is preparing you for something even better.
