5 Mindset Habits That Transformed My Life (Part 2)

Every time you consciously create change in your life, there are four levels that you are operating on:

  • Physical

  • Mental

  • Emotional

  • Spiritual

The second level is the domain of the intellect. The mental space is where all thinking, planning and strategising happens. It is also where doubt, fear and anxiety manifest as overthinking, negative mindset and self-sabotage. 

Here are the 5 habits that helped me transform my life on a mental level and how you can use them to change your life too!


1. THINKING POSITIVELY

If there’s one Universal Law you’ve heard of, it’s probably the Law of Attraction (12 Universal Laws to discover).

A positive mind creates a positive reality. But a positive mind without positive actions creates inertia in one’s life. 

What the Law of Attraction really means for our thinking is that it is necessary to create an abundant space in your mind in order to attract the desired reality of your dreams. 

When you couple your thinking with strong beliefs (your emotions around your thoughts), you solidify this thinking into a permanent state of mind. 

BEWARE: TOXIC POSITIVITY MIGHT GET IN THE WAY!

What is toxic positivity? When you feel bad, guilty or ashamed about feeling certain emotions or thinking about certain thoughts, because you “gotta stay positive 100% of the time”. 

It’s essential to allow all thoughts and emotions to pass through you without getting attached to them, that’s the way to keep rising above the limitations of the human mind (yes, we are all souls living a human experience — the mind can only comprehend so much!). 

2. SPEAKING THE TRUTH

Sooner or later, the truth always comes to light. And the truth sets us free for it realigns us into our highest state of mind. 

Speaking the truth is the opposite of manipulating a situation. 

When we speak the truth, we go with the natural flow of life and create a chance for connection, collaboration and unity. Life feels easy because there isn’t anything to hide — the mind is free to explore, dream things into being and generously share with others. 

When we manipulate using our words, we create illusions that are designed to “protect” us, but in the end they hurt us, because they alienate us from others behind invisible walls that are very limiting. In the limits of our protective tower, we may feel invincible, but over time the effort it takes to sustain the illusions gets the best of us and we collapse along with the tower we’d been building for years to keep us safe. 

REMINDER: WHERE YOUR ATTENTION GOES, THAT’S WHERE YOUR ENERGY FLOWS!

Speaking your truth helps you to invest your energy smarter. When you redirect your focus from overthinking, plotting and manipulation (limited impact) towards creating, connecting and collaborating (limitless impact), you learn the real power that the tongue holds.

3. RISING ABOVE FEAR (DOING IT ANYWAY!)

I read somewhere that there are really only ever two feelings or rather two operating modes: fear and love. 

So if I told you that fear is an illusion, what would that make love? 

The absolute truth? 

I’ll let you draw your own conclusions, but love is the only way to truly transform your life, inside and out. 

Whether you decide to dedicate yourself to personal growth or professional development, love is the key ingredient to success. 

WHAT IS SUCCESS WITHOUT LOVE, AFTER ALL?

To rise above fear is to discover your own wings. Love is not just a thing of the fairy tales, it’s the force that keeps your thoughts flowing in the right direction. 

Love is what gets you in alignment with your most authentic expression, which starts in the mind!

4. MAPPING OUT THINGS IN ADVANCE

When you have a strong mental foundation of clarity and positive attitude towards life, it’s time to channel your inner vision into actionable tasks that will help you create the reality of your dreams. 

Your vision coupled with a gameplan (strategy with goals) results in what is known as “manifesting”. 

Manifestations are not just wishful thinking. They are the result of your potential being transformed into action. 

MANIFESTATIONS ARE THE RESULT OF YOUR POTENTIAL BEING TRANSFORMED INTO ACTION.

Creating a roadmap for your success helps you to stay on track with your inner vision while giving you a reference point as to what needs to get done next in order to stay consistent.

From putting together a 5-year vision board plan to gamifying every day, let your imagination lead the way! 

5. TRUST YOURSELF & THE PROCESS

When you begin to change your life, there will be many days where it feels like nothing’s actually changing — it’s your faith in those days that will make all the difference.

IT TAKES PATIENCE TO CLIMB A MOUNTAIN, BUT ONCE YOU MAKE IT TO THE TOP, THE VIEW IS 100% WORTH THE CLIMB!

As one of my favourite quotes from Robin Sharma goes: “Change is hard at first, messy in the middle, and gorgeous at the end.”

Remember that YOU have the vision of what YOUR TRANSFORMATION looks like. Trust yourself and focus your energy on your intentions + your actions. 

Don’t worry about other people’s opinions and their projections of fear and doubt — they don’t see the vision and they are NOT supposed to, it is YOUR VISION and it is your responsibility to protect that vision until it’s completed, unless you need someone’s help to achieve that vision. 

The biggest lesson when it comes to trusting the process is to learn to trust yourself and remove the need for external validation. 

When you free yourself from the need to share every single detail about your dreams with others, you truly step into alignment with your most courageous, determined and successful version of yourself. This is the moment when you connect with your Higher Self and begin to unite your intellect with your intuition.
