When we commit to goals, whether they’re personal or professional, we often forget to make time for rest in our routine.
So what happens is we change our lifestyle to match the pursuits, but because this involves doing new things or doing things for longer periods of time, we go through a sensory overload.
To optimise our performance and keep our energy sufficient to help us succeed, we not only need more breaks during the day between tasks, but we need to get proper, deep sleep every night.
Showing up to do the work daily is an achievement in itself, but showing up to work half-rested means getting half of the results.
There’s a reason we say “work smarter, not harder”.
Getting more sleep means getting the job done faster, with more focus and insights, and with better collaboration with others.
With that in mind, what’s your sleep schedule? If you’re not getting enough quality sleep at night, what’s one thing you can change to improve it?
