When we say we are lacking time for something, it’s mostly because it’s at the bottom of our priority list. But how we talk about time reflects a deeper meaning the more we pay attention to the language we use.

“I am lacking time” and “I need more time” tell two different stories, even if the meaning is the same.

When we say “I don’t have time for this” or “I am lacking time for that”, it suggests that we are talking about something that might have been a priority at one point in the past, but it’s no longer one.

And when we say “I need more time with this” or “I want to spend more time doing that”, it gives us an indication that we are actively making time for something that is currently important to us.

So what are you lacking time for? Is it important? If not, is it time to let it go?

As we change, our habits and priorities change, and that’s okay. When we let something go, we make the needed time and space for something new to come into our life.
