Sometimes a single decision can change your entire life overnight.
Picture this – you get invited to a concert out of the blue. Once you get there, you meet a new friend who a couple of weeks later introduces you to your better half who a couple of years later invites friends over for dinner who happen to share their business idea and you say “Yes, I can help with that” and together you build a company worth millions.
One single decision – to go to a concert – changes the trajectory of your life. And you can’t help but think to yourself, “What if I never went to the concert?”
It’s possible that going to the concert was just one of many ways for you to meet the people already destined to be in your life. Or maybe this was just one of many possible scenarios, each equipped with different sets of people, you entered by going to the concert…
That’s the thing – we never know how a decision is going to change our life until we make the choice to take a leap of faith.
Such is the magic of life, we recognise it in hindsight. The more we put the dots together, the more we see the invisible threads that connect us all.
As Søren Kierkegaard said, “Life can only be understood backwards, but it must be lived forwards”.
