To experience double standards usually means to receive worse treatment than someone else, especially in an already established system that is supposed to treat everyone equally.
But you can experience double standards in relationships, too.
The way people treat you, however, has nothing to do with your value and everything to do with where they are in their journey.
People love, understand, support and help others based on the level they do the same things for themselves.
If someone’s a part of a broken system, they either don’t understand that it’s broken or they are benefitting from it.
The choice is yours to speak up if you believe you can bring a change to the status quo or to pick another battle and move on.
