Life moves pretty fast, one day merging into the next, unless you make time to slow down.

New knowledge about ourselves comes to us when we are still enough to receive it.

In the busy flow of the everyday life, we learn a lot about the world and the people around us, but we are bound to get lost (internally) if all we do is give our attention to others (or work).

Set aside an hour at the end of each week to bring back some of that attention to yourself.

1. LIST THE LESSONS

Write down a set of questions and answer them with as much honesty as you can:

  • What did I learn this week?

  • What am I grateful for this week?

  • Did I do something for the first time?

  • Was there something that made me feel bad?

  • Was there someone who went out of their way to help me?

Alternatively, you can complete the sentences:

  • I am grateful for doing…

  • I am grateful to… for…

  • I am happy that…

  • I learned that…

  • I am proud of myself for….

  • I want to do more of…

  • My mantra for next week is…

2. PLAN FOR NEXT WEEK

Once you’ve had enough time to analyse the past week and integrate it with who you are today, you can continue with planning your intentions for the upcoming week.

  • What can I do to improve my attitude or actions next week?

  • Is there something I really want to do next week?

  • Is there someone I really need to call, message or meet?

  • Do I need to change something in my routine next week?

  • What’s something I need to learn more about next week?

  • What’s one action I can take that will bring me closer to my dream reality?

And the list goes on!

Once you make it a habit to spend time with yourself, you will find that the right questions will come to you at the right time. No question is random – everything connects in the end.

P.S. We are not human machines. We are human beings. It’s okay to have weeks that are about being and not doing. If you’re feeling out of balance, it might be because you’ve been doing too much as a way to stay distracted from “simply being” – the world won’t collapse if you take a break, I promise. In fact, the world desperately needs you, just as you are! ☀️
