Have you ever found yourself thinking “Why the hell did I say that?” – and then brainstorming ideas as to what you should have said instead regarding situations that can never be repeated, since they are now part of the past.

Here’s the thing about speaking the truth: it doesn’t come easy if you’re not used to being honest with yourself.

When you don’t trust yourself, you can’t communicate your needs, thoughts and ideas without fear.

When you don’t trust yourself, it’s hard to trust someone else either, so your ability to speak the truth becomes even more difficult.

Learning to trust yourself starts with being 100% honest with yourself and then applying forgiveness to all your past versions who didn’t know better and probably acted out of survival mode!

As Mel Robbins writes, “When you are in survival mode, you don’t know how to do anything better than just get by however you can.”
