Emotions are like an inner waterfall. They are meant to flow freely and balance our inner world in union with our thoughts.
When we suppress our emotions, we create blockages.
What happens when you try to stop a waterfall? Well, you create a ticking water bomb!
You might successfully pause the inner waterfall for a bit, but once it generates enough emotions that have been held back for too long, it will abruptly burst without any ability to control it anymore.
Honouring your emotions means facing them just as they are without any judgement, shame or guilt.
