A talent is something encoded in your genes. It’s up to you to develop a talent by dedicating time and energy for practice.

And the best part is that a talent doesn’t go away if you don’t pay attention to it – it just doesn’t get better over time and you’re not able to use it as part of the identity that you articulate to others.

In other words, there’s no time limit to β€œunlocking” the talents that are within you in the sense that today is a day as good as any other day to start a new habit or pick up a new hobby that sparks an interest in you.

But there’s a time limit, so to speak – we all have limited time on Earth, so the longer you wait to do, say or start something that you really, really want to, the more you’re working against your talents and against yourself, and why would you want to do that?!

If fear is your answer, replace it with joy!

The antidote to fear is joy – the excitement of doing something that’s 100% extraordinary to you, even when it gets challenging.
