To underestimate someone is to judge them based on your (limited) impression of them.

To underestimate yourself follows the same logic – you grasp onto certain aspects of yourself, blindsided by your strengths and in denial regarding your weaknesses, ultimately denying your own greatness.

We tend to underestimate others when we are underestimating ourselves.

In reality, there’s plenty of greatness in all of us!

It is when we allow ourselves to expand beyond our own judgements that we can be more authentic and let go of the burden to be “perfect” or simply someone else we thought was required of us to be in order to be fully accepted in the world.
