We often perceive others with more clarity than we do ourselves. This not only applies to their strengths and weaknesses, but their hidden talents too.
When a friend comes to us with a problem, we connect the dots in seconds.
We say: βYouβve got the strength, the courage and the creativity to get through this.β
To which our friend might respond: βYou really believe this?β
And weβre certain: βOf course! Donβt you know who you are?!β
Yet when it comes to us, this certainty is not a given.
We spend a lifetime with ourselves, often underestimating the importance of actually taking the time to get to know our depths (emotional, mental, spiritual).
The biggest lesson we can learn on our road to self-improvement is to be our best friend, both in the good and in the bad times.
What is it that you see in others that you donβt see in yourself?
I guarantee you have a bit of it in you, too.
