One of my favourite mantras is βseasons do not hurry, yet everything gets done in timeβ.
Just like seasons, we operate in cycles. Once a cycle is completed, the next one comes. A new beginning replaces the ending. But in order to welcome transformation, we need to learn to flow with the changes that are continually happening.
If we attempt to cling to a particular state or season, we are only making ourselves miserable (stress, anxiety, burnout, fear, etc) by not allowing the changes to happen naturally.
Todayβs question is all about your internal seasons.
Hereβs a quick guide by Katy Murray who wrote about the benefits of living seasonally and what each season represents in her book βChange Makersβ:
Everything in life is energy. The more you understand what state or season youβre in, the more youβll be able to work in a way that protects your energy.
Spring is all about making room for new ideas to blossom
Summer brings us to new heights, creatively and emotionally
Autumn has to do with completing projects and reflection
Winter encourages us to rest and gather our strength for action
Collectively, weβre in a transitioning period from summer to autumn at the moment.
But individually β that is, on the inside β we might be in a transition from winter to spring, or spring to summer.
We never fully know whatβs happening inside the mind or heart of another person. But when we are aligned with our own feelings and thoughts, we can approach life with more empathy, understanding and appreciation.
So, what season are you in right now?
