Do you ever wake up and think to yourself, “Today I don’t feel like doing anything.” Just like “The Lazy Song” by Bruno Mars!
In the pursuit to have it all, we are quick to fill our calendar with calls, meetings and activities that should bring us closer to our targets.
Our to-do list probably requires a to-do list just to make sure we know exactly what we’re doing, when and how and who with.
Oh, and our loved ones? They probably have been warned that we might disappear on them a little bit more, or they are being rushed into the whirlpool of tasks with us.
Life doesn’t stop just because our schedule gets frantic. But we certainly have the ability to stop when life gets frantic.
When’s the last time you set aside time to do nothing?
One of the biggest issues for people who experience burnout is precisely the idea of doing nothing. When they are so exhausted, they can no longer function properly and all they can do is lie in bed, do you know what’s going through their mind – thoughts of guilt.
“How did I end up here?”
“I should have known better…”
“Maybe the day isn’t lost yet…”
Here’s the thing though.
A day spent doing nothing is far from lost.
It’s an opportunity to fall in love with life as it is.
It’s a chance to catch up with old friends and old hobbies.
It’s a mirror from the universe to see yourself as the strong warrior that you and how much you can achieve when you set your heart and mind to it.
It’s also a warning.
Our potential might be limitless, but our energy isn’t. Learning to work smarter with our energy is the biggest life lesson you can master, especially if you wish to achieve big things.
There’s wisdom in slowing down as frequently as possible. Listen to the little voice within, your intuition, that knows the way to keeping your balance intact.
