There are certain things we believe in that shape and reaffirm our identity on a daily basis.

We act in alignment with our beliefs, whether we know what they are, or not.

Why?

We can never be bigger than what we believe in, because what we believe in is what sets the limitations for our reality.

Yup, you read that right – the limitations.

The power of self-discovery lies in understanding why you act the way you act, including what you believe in and how that affects your actions on an unconscious level, so that you can start to create your reality more consciously.

Some beliefs we adopt from our parents, others from our friends, colleagues and role models. Over time they form a solid, stubborn foundation that sometimes prevents us from truly unleashing our potential, because we refer to it as the ultimate source of truth.

A belief is like a compass, it guides us. While the compass is universal, only we know where we’re going or where we want to go.

Our daily non-negotiables either help us progress faster and enjoy the process, or they slow us down and make us feel like we’ll never be able to reach the final destination.

And our daily non-negotiables are very much influenced by our beliefs.

So if you feel like you’re not making much progress or that you have somewhat lost the plot, don’t just look at your habits or the non-negotiable actions you perform daily. Take a moment to question your values and how much they have contributed to the habits you choose to practice. Last but not least, consider whether you’ve chosen your daily non-negotiables from a lack mindset, or from a growth mindset.
