Some lessons can be discovered in books, podcasts and films. Others come in the form of tips and advice from friends, colleagues, sometimes strangers. And there’s a third kind that can only be understood through experience.
The lessons we learn from experience come in different forms. Sometimes they happen directly to us and other times they happen to people around us. But until we can relate to them, we cannot truly understand their significance to our growth.
A person who says “That’s just who I am” is an example of someone who’s not perceptive enough to recognise an opportunity for their personal expansion.
Because that’s what the big life lessons are – opportunities to advance our personal evolution.
If you go through your whole life making the exact same choices every day, you wouldn’t expect to get different results, right? Circumstances will keep on changing, but you will remain the same, until you make the conscious decision to change.
Paradoxically, we cannot stay the same forever, yet our life* will remain the same until we change.
