3 Simple Habits to Ground Your Root Chakra

There are 7 chakras or 7 energy centres in your body.

The first chakra is the root chakra. This is the energetic centre for calm, peace and safety.

When you are afraid, you block your energetic ascension to the other chakras:

  • Sacral chakra — creative expression

  • Solar plexus — confidence

  • Heart chakra — empathy

  • Throat chakra — honesty

  • Third eye chakra — imagination

  • Crown chakra — interconnectedness

Everything starts with the root chakra and feeling “at home” within your own body and in the present moment.

Why do you think so much effort is going into keeping us all in survival mode 24/7 and afraid of what might happen next? This is known as fear-based programming to keep us slaves to the system.

Here are 3 simple ways to ground your root chakra and bring calm to your life effortlessly!

1. EXERCISE

Fear causes a chemical reaction in our body related to the release of two hormones known as the “stress hormones”: adrenaline and cortisol.

Exercise reduces levels of the body’s stress hormones and this is backed up by science.

Fear is a chain reaction in the brain that happens when you encounter a potentially harmful stimulus… (OR THE ILLUSION OF A HARMFUL SITUATION) …During the fight‐ or flight response, many body systems undergo changes to give your body a burst of energy needed to defend yourself (fight) or to escape (flight) in a potentially harmful situation. Exercise is a powerful way to take control of the situation and regain control over your own reactions by self-regulating.

Exercise helps you restore the hormonal balance within you while helping you shift your energy too — from a victim to the hero or heroine that knows how to fight back in the face of stress.

This is why exercise is such a great habit to add to your daily or weekly routine.

Last but not least, exercise and movement assist the body’s metabolism, gut health and cognitive skills to function as expected!

2. MEDITATION

There are two opposite but equally effective paths to self-regulate:

  • Start from outside (actions)

  • Start from within (thoughts)

When you’re feeling stressed, anxious and overwhelmed, you can do a workout, go for a walk or shake it off with a dance in the living room.

Or you can slow down, do breathing exercises and meditate — release the thoughts that are “bringing you down”.

Success, peace and happiness are all dependent on our mindset and attitude.

When we’re stressed or fearful, we are not fully in the present moment. We have gotten distracted by events or news that hijacked our attention — and now they want to keep us prisoners to the reality they’re offering us.

But you’re not in the war zone, facing the charges in the courtroom or among the victims of cruel people around the world: you see what TV programming and mass media propaganda is doing to all of us?

There’s a reason they say media control = mind control.

It’s using your empathy against you (emotional manipulation) to lower your emotional and energetic state from the fourth chakra or the fourth energetic centre (The Heart Chakra) all the way down to the first one (The Root Chakra).

Meditation allows us rebalance our inner world and connect all 7 chakras, so that we can be at peace, feel creative and connect with others on a deeper level — yes, even during stressful times.

After all, what is stress if not an interpretation of the mind!

3. LAUGHTER

Amazing things happen when you connect spirituality and science: you understand why exercise (movement) and meditation (stillness) are both great self-regulation techniques that restore the normal functioning of our body, mind and heart.

But sometimes – you just need to laugh it off!

You can’t be sad, angry, hateful or afraid as you’re laughting. Try it!

Remember the movie “La vita è bella”? A father did anything possible to keep his son entertained during their time at a concentration camp in the Second World War, because the imprisonment of our bodies does not equal the imprisonment of our souls. We are free to laugh in the face of stress!

Our free will allows us to react in any way we seem fit. But instead of waiting to react, why not act proactively and equip yourself with positive energy in advance — laugh daily!

Humour heals as long as we’re not making fun of our wounds but using our words to heal them. And as we heal, the humour we rely on can further empower and uplift us into becoming greater versions of ourselves!
