When you play a game online, more often than not you get to choose your character and customise them, from their appearance to their personality. Through missions and challenges, you then get to unlock new skills & knowledge and collect weapons & bonus points.

And while every game has its own unique set of rules (and cheat codes), you still have a great amount of freedom as to how to spend your time, what to do with your resources, who to connect with, team up with or go against, and what levels to repeat or move on from.

Life’s a lot like an online game. There are some limitations based on the current character you’re playing, but you always have the freedom to change your character – or repeat the missions where you missed out on a couple of points or even a hidden treasure map.

And if you’re really paying attention to the game, you’ll discover that new versions of it continue to be uploaded – each with new character options, new levels and new missions available to select.
