“If you’re not having fun, you’re not doing it right. Life, I mean.”
This was a random thought that came to me recently and it made me question how I do things from work and hobbies to chores and social events.
There are certain commitments and responsibilities we must show up for, because we choose to be in them, since they bring us deep fulfilment (even if they get difficult or repetitive at times). When these activities get challenging or mundane, which they are bound to at some point, it’s up to us to shift our perspective and view them as opportunities for fun.
But there are also contracts, agreements and relationships that we have the power to leave if they do not make us happy anymore or allow us to be in our most carefree state of mind.
Why?
Because life’s too short to do anything that is bringing you stress to the point of you not recognising your own ability to enjoy yourself.
Maintaining your health, both physical and mental, is your number one priority in life. Following that which makes you happy is a sign that you’re looking after yourself. Well done if you can crack a joke during a stressful situation – you’re doing better than most people!
